EUNIT is a pan – European cooperation between natural fibre processors and leading scientific work groups to apply for funds of the 6th European Framework Programme. European fibre producers are currently not able to supply 50 % of the quantities of high-quality natural fibres required. The main aim of EUNIT is to strengthen and harmonise the joint efforts in quality assurance and competitive fibre processing of European hemp and flax processors for non-textile fibres. A joint action by European bast fibre producers is planned in order to overcome the existent disadvantages and to increase their market shares.
