Hello,
I was planning on cultivating and using industrial hemp here in Pakistan, originally starting with just hempcrete as I think it would really make people’s lives here a lot better, due to the climate. I searched many different places but I’m not sure where I can get the seeds for industrial hemp from so I was wondering if either you could tell me some places where I can check or if you can provide some. I just need a few so I can see if they’ll grow here and how I would have to process it.
If you have any tips I would really appreciate that as well. Oh and if you can please help me with some questions I have for this.
Will it grow in hot dry areas?
How much water does it need?
How hard is the core exactly, so I can get an idea of how to separate it to make the hempcrete.
Will it re-grow after harvesting or will I have to remove the roots and plant new seed?
If it will re-grow then how long after harvesting will it start to grow?
How long does hempcrete normally take to cure?
How strong is the hempcrete in the start? Because I read that it hardens over time (years)
And can I build an entire house, including the roof, using just hempcrete or will I need to use metal rods or wood to create a frame? Like could I make a house in a similar way as making a brick house? Will it be strong if it’s entirely made out of hempcrete?
Thanks again for taking the time to read this, I really appreciate any help you can offer. I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Mohammad Ibrahim
