The conference will take place in a new venue – the “Rheinforum” in Wesseling (near Cologne/Germany). Please reserve the date of May 27th-28th, 2009 in your calendar! (Be aware that there is no EIHA Conference in 2008!)
The venue of the conference has a capacity of 200 participants and space for a lot of booths. The venue is next to the “Hotel am Rhein”, where we have reserved 55 rooms. First we only inform EIHA members about the conference and the Hotel, so You can make Your arrangements as soon as possible – please use the keyword “EIHA 2009”. If You will book Your hotel later, there is the risk that You have to choose a hotel 10 or 15 minutes away.

Background of the conference
The EIHA Conference established itself as an expert meeting of the natural fibre branch in Europe and also world-wide. Experts from all over the world will meet each other in order to exchange information about the latest developments concerning hemp and other natural fibres. The spectrum of participants will range from cultivation consultants, primary and further processors, traders, mechanical engineers and investors to numerous small and medium-sized enterprises and to globally operating automotive enterprises and suppliers. They all share common interest in the utilisation of hemp fibres and shives. The conference language will be English.
We expect an increased number of participants because of more EIHA members and the context of the International Year of Natural Fibres 2009.
Call for Papers
We would like to invite you as a speaker to this conference. Please send us as soon as possible the title and the abstract of your presentation. Please keep in mind that all participants are experts. We are primarily interested in new and sophisticated topics concerning hemp, natural fibres, technologies and applications. The time for presentations will be about 20 minutes plus 10 minutes for discussion. It will be our pleasure to receive the title and the abstract of your presentation. Please send your proposal to Dominik Vogt (dominik.vogt@eiha.org), who is responsible for the organisation of the conference.
Further information
The participant fee is 330 EUR plus 19% VAT and for EIHA members we have a special offer: The participant fee for EIHA members and speakers will be 165 EUR (including lunches, snacks and the dinner buffet)!

EIHA – General Meeting
On Monday evening (May 26th, 2009) the next General Meeting of EIHA will take place. All members of EIHA are invited to attend the General Meeting with right to vote. Please inform Dominik Vogt (dominik.vogt@eiha.org) if You want to participate.
